How UPI AutoPay billing works on aipatnam: charges, notices, cancelling and failed renewals

What happens when you subscribe with UPI AutoPay: the first charge, the 24-hour notice, renewals every 30 days, how to cancel in Billing or your UPI app, and what a failed renewal means.

Paid aipatnam plans renew by UPI AutoPay, so you do not have to remember a payment date. That convenience raises fair questions: how much will be taken, when, can it go up without warning, and how do you stop it? This guide answers those in plain language, using what our billing actually does today.

It covers InstaDM and Store, which share one subscription. Prices and rules can change, so treat the pricing page and the Billing screen as the final word, and the Refund and Cancellation Policy as the legal one.

What UPI AutoPay is

UPI AutoPay lets you approve a recurring payment once, inside your own UPI app, and then lets the business collect later payments up to the limit you approved. You approve it with your UPI PIN, in your own app, and not on our site. We never see your UPI PIN.

That approval is called a mandate. A mandate has a maximum amount, a start date and an end date. It is not a blank cheque: a debit above the approved maximum is not allowed, and you can cancel the mandate at any time from your UPI app.

Recurring payments under ₹15,000 per debit do not need an extra authentication step each time under the RBI’s e-mandate framework, as reported in the press. Our plans are far below that figure, so after you approve the mandate once, renewals happen without a PIN prompt. This is the standard UPI AutoPay behaviour, not something specific to aipatnam.

What you pay and when

Paid plans are monthly, and a month is 30 days. Prices are shown in rupees and include taxes. At the time of writing, Basic is ₹249 a month and Advance is ₹499 a month; the pricing page always shows the current figures.

Your first paid subscription has a first-month price, which applies once per customer: ₹49 for Basic and ₹99 for Advance at the time of writing. Here is how that works with the mandate:

  • The mandate you approve is for up to the regular monthly price of the plan.
  • The first debit, taken when you approve, is the first-month price.
  • Every renewal after that is the regular monthly price, 30 days apart, until you cancel.

Billing shows the next billing date and the renewal amount. Your UPI app may show a mandate end date years away. That is normal for an open-ended subscription: the mandate stays open until you cancel, and you are charged once every 30 days, never more than the renewal amount.

The notice before each renewal

Before every renewal, your bank or UPI app sends you a notice at least 24 hours before the debit, with who is charging you, how much and when. The 24-hour notice is part of the RBI’s e-mandate rules for recurring payments, so it comes from your bank or UPI app and not only from us.

The notice is also your chance to stop a renewal you no longer want. Cancel in Billing or in your UPI app before the debit date and the payment will not be taken.

Payment partners report that UPI AutoPay debits are processed in non-peak hours. Do not expect the debit at a particular minute of the billing day: it may land overnight or early in the morning.

Cancelling

There are two ways to cancel, and both stop all future debits:

  1. In your dashboard: open Billing and choose Cancel subscription. This also cancels the UPI AutoPay mandate.
  2. In your UPI app: revoke the AutoPay mandate for aipatnam or InstaDM.

After you cancel, your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then moves to the Free plan. Nothing you created is deleted. You can subscribe again whenever you like after that date.

What happens if a renewal fails

Renewals fail for ordinary reasons: not enough balance, a bank holding the debit, a daily limit, or a UPI app problem. When that happens:

  • Your paid plan stays active for 5 more days, and Billing shows a warning.
  • We try again automatically, up to three attempts in all. Before each new attempt, your UPI app sends its own notice about a day ahead, so make sure your bank account has the money by then.
  • We email you about the first failure and about the last one. The attempts in between would only be noise.
  • If the payment is still unpaid after the grace period, your account moves to the Free plan. You can subscribe again from Billing at any time.

To fix a failing renewal sooner, top up the account linked to your UPI app, then check Billing. If you would rather start clean, cancel the subscription and subscribe again, which sets up a new mandate.

If something looks wrong

  • You approved the payment but your plan still shows as pending: the page checks automatically and usually confirms within seconds. If it has not changed after a few minutes, use Check status. A payment page you left open expires on its own after about 10 minutes.
  • Money left your account but there is no plan: email support@aipatnam.com with your account email and the UPI transaction reference.
  • You were charged twice for a month, charged a different amount from the price you subscribed at, or charged after you cancelled: these are refundable under the Refund and Cancellation Policy. Write to us within 7 days of the charge.

Otherwise, subscription payments are final and are not refunded for unused days, as the policy explains.

Questions people ask

Can the amount go up without me knowing?

No. The price you subscribed at is the amount debited each month until you cancel. If we change prices we email you at least 30 days before the change applies, and a change never affects a period you have already paid for. You can cancel before it starts. Your mandate also limits what can be debited to the approved maximum.

Can I pay by card or net banking instead?

Paid plans currently renew only by UPI AutoPay. Other payment methods may be added later; this guide will be updated if they are.

Do I need to keep money in my account all month?

Only on the debit date. Your bank or UPI app gives you a notice at least 24 hours before it, so you can check the balance then.

Does cancelling in my UPI app also cancel the plan?

It stops all future debits, so the plan will not renew. You keep it until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling in Billing does the same and also closes the mandate for you.
